Mauve nasce a Verbania nel maggio 2005.
Elda (batteria) e Carlo (chitarra e voce) si incontrano per caso nel giardino della bilbioteca civica e decidono di ricominciare a suonare insieme. Dopo circa un anno, a completare il nucleo originario si aggiunge Alberto (chitarre).

Il suono della band mostra una doppia faccia come nella storia del Dottor Jekyll e di Mr. Hyde: da un lato musica strumentale, rumorosa ed evocativa; dall'altro malinconiche canzoni indie-rock. Nell'agosto 2006 viene registrato "Sweet noise on the sofa", un ep di 4 brani che a gennaio esce per l'etichetta milanese Canebagnato records.

Il gruppo sta ora suonando in diversi contesti live oltre a preparare il vero e proprio LP, la cui uscita è prevista per inizio 2008.

Mauve takes shape one day of May 2005 in Verbania (Italy). After a short talk inside the local library's garden, Carlo (guitar, voice) and Elda (drums, samples) bring it to life. After the winter, Alberto (guitar, glockenspiel) joins the band that grows up very fast. Their sound begins to have a double side, like Doctor Jekyll and Mr.Hyde story: instrumental music, noisy and evocative on one side; melancholic indie-rock songs with love lyrics on the other. In August 2006 Mauve record their first four-track EP called "Sweet noise on the sofa" that is out for Cane Bagnato Records.

Now the band is playing live and working for the first LP that will be out at the beginning of the new year
